Notorious Hoodlum Nabbed By Delta Police

A notorious cultist, Godfrey Tietie a.k.a “Don Baby,” has been arrested by personnel of the Delta State Command’s De-Coy Squad.

It was gathered that the 40-year-old suspect has been terrorising Oghara Community and its environs in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of the state.

Don Baby was arrested at Ogorode road by Texaco in Sapele during a covert operation by the Police on 20/8/2023 and operatives of the command recovered a locally made revolver pistol from the suspect.

The development was confirmed by the Delta State Police Command, led by CP Wale Abass in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The Police image maker said, “Investigation revealed that the suspect is a member of Aiye confraternity and is also suspected to be a gun runner who supplies guns to cultists in Sapele, Oghara, and environs.”

DSP Edafe noted that, “Investigation is ongoing.”

Similarly, police Surveillance Team from Ekpan Division in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, have recovered one AK47 Rifle, one magazine loaded with seven (7) rounds of 7.62mm Ammunitions, one English pump action gun with three (3) live cartridges, and two cut-to-size Double Barrel Gun in a sack abandoned in an uncompleted building in Aladja Community, Udu Local Government Area.

The recovered items were abandoned by some criminal elements operating within Warri, Udu, Koko and proximate environs on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, at about 1600hrs.

It was learnt that the Police trailed the criminals into their hideout at Aladja Grammar School in Aladja Town Udu Local Government.

The Command confirmed the report in a statement signed by DSP Edafe.

The Police image maker said the hoodlums fled the scene upon sighting the Police.

According to him, “A search was conducted immediately around the uncompleted building and a sack bag was found.”

He noted that the items were recovered during a search of the sack bag.

DSP Edafe said, “Efforts are on top gear to identify and arrest the said hoodlums.”
