NSCDC Arrests Mother, Son For Assaulting Teenage Girl

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has taken a mother, Adamo Yunusa, and her son, Saeed Yunusa, into custody for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Kwara State.

The mother and child were arrested by the Gender Unit of the NSCDC of Kwara State Command.

This was disclosed by the corps spokesman, Ayeni Olasunkanmi, in a statement he issued in Ilorin, the state capital on Tuesday.

According to Olasunkanmi, the two suspects assaulted the 12-year-old over a missing N2000.

The corps image maker said men of the command apprehended the suspects at their residence in Ile Oniponmo, Ayelabowo in Oko-olowo area of Ilorin.

The Kwara State commandant of NSCDC, Muhammed Tukur Ibrahim, urged citizens to be vigilant and report any criminal act or security threat in their communities.

He further assured the state of the command’s readiness to respond to any security threat.

The two suspects shall be taken to the court to face the law, the NSCDC spokesman added.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command has nabbed four suspected armed robbers disguised in military uniform.

The Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspects attacked and robbed a woman of her money and other valuables in Benin.

The case was reported by their victim, Grace Ainabe, whose residence was invaded.

The suspects are Iyabo Victor, 35 (the leader), Osas Aganmwonyi 28, Nosa Owie, 24, and Idi Etukudo.

They wore military uniforms, and armed with guns, broke into the victim’s house in Teboga community, carting away money, phones and jewelry.

Items recovered from them include Iphone13 worth N500,000, IPhone 6 worth N48,000 and jewelry worth N850,000.

Others include a standing fan worth N95,000, an LG split Air Conditioner worth N360,000, washing machine, inverter battery, accessories, gas cylinders, among others.
