A 32-year-old man, Gafar Oyewole, has been arrested for stealing a ring-moulding machine at Ifelodun community, Agunbelewo, Osogbo, Osun State.
Oyewole was nabbed by men of the Western Nigeria Security Agency, also known as Osun Amotekun Corps.
According to the commander of the security outfit, Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi (retd), the suspect was arrested after a distress call was received by the Amotekun Osogbo Command.
Adewinmbi disclosed that the distress call led to the arrest of the suspect following the immediate move by the operatives.
“The suspect, who is an ex-convict, admitted to being in the act for a very long time, and he had been to a correctional centre for the same act.
“During cross-examination, the suspect confessed to perpetrating the act and pleaded for mercy,” Adewinmbi said.
The suspect will be handed over to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
In another development, one unidentified driver was killed in a lone accident in the early hours of Friday in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The accident occurred around the Ministry of Agriculture roundabout along the Sango Road in the state capital.
The lone driver coming from Fate Road reportedly hit the roundabout as a result of overspeeding, leading to the Mazda car bursting into flames.

At the time of this report, smoke was still issuing from the badly damaged car, which was burnt beyond recognition, while the ground around the scene of the accident was stained with blood.
Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander, of Kwara State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Frederick Ade Ogidan, said, “it was a lone accident, and the driver died in the incident.”
