Police arrest 3 sacked staff for attempting to kidnap former boss

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested three men for attempting to kidnap their former employer in Ijebu ode area of Ogun state.

The three suspects, Peter Nse aged 24, Chuckwuma Nwobodo aged 48 and Michael Umanah aged 30 were arrested following a complain lodged at Igbeba Divisional Headquarters by Ifenuga Olayinka.

According to Olayinka who reported the incident to the police, I received a text message on my phone from someone who described himself as a “‘ Killer Vagabond of Africa “. In the said message, the author directed that I paid the sum of five million naira into a bank account he sent to me or risk being kidnapped within the shortest possible time.

NigeriaCrime.com gathered that based on the report, the DPO Igbeba Division, CSP Musiliu Doga detailed his detectives to unravel those behind the devilish message.

The detectives there and then embarked on a technical and intelligence-based investigation which led them to Anambra state where two of the suspects namely Peter Nse and Chuckwuma Nwobodo were arrested.

Their arrest led the detectives to Ago Iwoye where the third suspect Michael Umanah was apprehended.

It was when they were brought before the complainant that he identified them as his former employees whom he laid off not quite long ago for certain misconduct.

Confirming the arrest, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command said during interrogation, they all confessed to the commission of the crime and claimed to have attempted just because they were not happy as the complainant terminated their appointment.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the anti-kidnapping unit of the state Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation.
