Four suspects have been arrested for attempting to kidnap Nigerian musician, Tiwa Savage.

This development was confirmed by CSP Oluniyi Ogundeyi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon, in Ikoyi, Lagos State on Saturday.

Recall that the singer reportedly escaped kidnap attempt on Friday.

According to reports, the singer was saved by her private security team and operatives of the Nigeria Police.

It was learnt that the failed plot was allegedly planned by Savage’s new domestic staff, who had been entrusted with vital information about her.

The police told newsmen that the domestic staff allegedly trailed the singer as she left her home and shared the information with other members of the alleged kidnap gang.

“Yes, we have some suspects, they are in our custody. They are about four,” the police spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the body of an adult male has been recovered from the rubble of the collapsed building on First Avenue, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The seven-storey building, which was under construction, collapsed on Wednesday, leaving many workers trapped.

Although no fewer than 25 people were rescued from the collapsed structure, City Round gathered that emergency responders, who stormed the scene for the rescue operation, continued with the search.

However, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement on Friday, disclosed that the body of the male victim was found on Friday morning, almost 48 hours after the incident.

Omotoso said, “The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency search and recovery efforts unearthed the remains of the adult male hitherto unaccounted for by site supervisors.

“The excavation of the site, using architectural designs, continues. The site has been divided into quadrants for a painstaking search and rescue operation. Quadrants two and three have been levelled to ground zero, with the search operation completed. Quadrant four is ongoing.

“Nobody could ascertain whether the victim, whose body was found this morning, was on the site – as of the time the roll call was taken.”
