Soldier Kills One Hoodlum As Thugs Disrupts Kogi Election

A soldier has reportedly killed one suspected hoodlum, popularly known as Ojochenemi Atidoga for disrupting the ongoing election at Open Space University Village polling unit, Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi state.

NIGERIACRIME gathered that the military man stabbed the hoodlum to death after the deceased had reportedly caused tension in that area of the state.

According to reports by eyewitnesses, the hoodlum was on rampage, threatening to kill anybody who votes for any other party than the All Progressives Congress (APC), before the incident occurred.

One of the eyewitnesses, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of being victimised, stated that many voters who were not APC supporters had to run away from the polling unit.

It was said that moments later, military men on election duty caught, beat, and stabbed him in the lap and was later left on the floor, where he bled to death.

Meanwhile, there was tension in Ogege road, Odaba Polling Unit in Dekina Ward, Kogi State as Thugs suspected to be loyal to a leading political party came in large numbers to destroy voting materials.

It was gathered that the voters fled from the voting arena.

According to reports, the thugs, wielding machetes and guns, snatched ballot boxes, broke chairs and dispersed voters.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have dispersed as of press time.
