Three Armed Robbers Arrested In Jigawa

Three suspected armed robbers have been arrested in Ringim Local Government Area by the Jigawa State Police Command.

This was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday.

The statement said, “the Police in Ringim division on Saturday received a report that unknown armed men numbering about four, criminally trespassed into a house at Kakikankare village in Ringim local government and went away with a motor vehicle, golf 3 wagon green in colour with registration number RNG 691 AA Jigawa State”

“The vehicle is valued at N1.8 million, also stolen were (2) Tecno phone keypad, ATM card, Voter card, National I.D card, Custom duty, Vigilante I.D. card”

DSP Shiisu said on receiving the information, the detective from Ringim Division swiftly swung into action and succeeded in arresting three suspects.

“On Sunday October 01st we succeeded in arresting three suspects including; Yakubu Adamu, Hamisu Adamu and Abubakar Sani all of Narewa village, Ringim LGA.”

He said the suspects were arrested and recovered one Beretta pistol with four Ammunition in their possession.

He said on interrogation, the suspects confessed to having participated in the offence, they further revealed that the vehicle was already sold at Maradi City in Niger Republic.

DSP Shiisu said efforts are on to arrest the remaining suspects and recover the stolen vehicle.

Similarly, the command also said it foiled an attempted armed robbery by unidentified people in Kazaure Local Government Area of the state.

The command in a statement on Sunday by its Assistant Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Isah said the incident occurred on Friday, 29th September, 2023.

“On 29th September, 2023 at about 0330 hrs, a distress call was received at Kazaure Police Station that some hoodlums suspected to be armed robbers were seen jumping over the barbed wire into the house of one Bello Aliyu of Yanmakada quarters, Kazaure LGA.

“Upon receiving the report, a patrol team attached to the Kazaure Division swiftly rushed to the scene, on sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels where the said Bello Aliyu was met tied with a rope”.

He added “At about 0230hrs four unknown persons flinched into his compound, forcefully collected his car key “A Mercedes Benz with registration number BWA 447 DA” and loaded some household properties inside the said vehicle.

Isah noted that the suspects while escaping left one motor vehicle, one Samsung phone, one television, two speakers, one DSTV receiver, one laptop, a Peugeot car key, two women’s shoes, two caps, and some clothes among others.

But the complainant lamented that his vehicle’s Benz ignition key, one Tecno phone, and one Nokia phone were still missing.
