Three people have been reportedly killed and 13 others abducted in separate attacks on Damari community in Birnin-Gwari LGA of Kaduna.
Ishaq Kasai, chairman of Birnin-Gwari emirate progressives union (BEPU), in a statement on Wednesday, said there were two attacks on the community on Monday and Tuesday.
According to Kasai, the gunmen killed three people in the attack that took place on Monday, and he listed the three people killed as Hashimu Dan-Daura, Nazifi Adamu, and Alhaji Dangude.
He said in the Tuesday attack, the gunmen looted many shops, and on their way back to the forest area, they abducted 13 people at Hayin-Gada in the same Damari community.
“The terrorists operated in the town stylishly unchallenged for about an hour,” Kasai said.
“The attacks came after Ansaru members, who were considered to be defending the locals, deserted the area for about four days now.

“It could be recalled that Ansaru members clashed with the bandits when they earlier invaded the town on 13th July, 2022, where damages were made to the town, including burning of a private hospital, two vehicles and one shop.”
Kasai added that following the series of attacks, residents have fled the community.
He urged the government to make efforts to improve security in the area.
Meanwhile, efforts to reach Mohammed Jalige, police spokesman in the state, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls.
