Two Caught With Pistol, Masquerade Regalia In Lagos

Two men have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for being in possession of incriminating objects.

This was made known by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who said men of the command apprehended the two suspected cultists early Saturday morning.

Hundeyin said the self-confessed cultists were arrested after a patrol team from Imota Division flagged down the men riding on a motorcycle for a search.

He said, “A local semi-automatic pistol, two live ammunition, charms, masquerade regalia and phones were found with them.

“Suspects confessed to being cultists and working as land grabbers in Ikorodu.”

According to the police spokesperson, the cultists rode into Lagos from Sagamu, in neighbouring Ogun State.

The spokesperson added that the investigation of the men and their possessions is ongoing.

In another news, the decomposed bodies of the two abducted wives and five children of the Chief of Mutumbiyu Justices Chiefdom in Taraba State, Justice Sani Muhammed (rtd), have been found.

According to the monarch, the decomposed bodies were found in the early hours of Saturday and would be buried at Mutumbiyu.

He explained, “The bodies of the members of my family killed by the kidnappers were found and will be brought to Mutumbiyu for burial.”

Two weeks ago, he stated that at his residence in Jalingo, eight of his family members were kidnapped by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

The monarch explained that among the eight kidnapped, a 14-year-old boy escaped from the kidnappers two days ago and was taken to the palace.
