Two suspects, Naheem Ibrahim, 46 and Suraju Isiaka, 33, have been arrested for stealing 15 goats from various parts of Osun state.
Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the duo were arrested on Wednesday Sekona-Odeomu area of the state.
Police spokesperson in the state, Yemisi Opalola said the suspects were arrested around 3 am along Sekona-Odeomu axis of the state.
She added that 14 live she-goats, loaded in a Lexus jeep registered with LSR 194 HE, were recovered from the suspects while one was already dead.
Opalola added that the suspects, upon interrogation, confessed to have stolen the goats from different locations in the state, including, Osogbo, the state capital, Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government and Ila-Orangun in Ila Local Government Area of the state.
She added that the suspects added that goats were to be taken to one Iya Bisola at Mile-12 in Lagos states, who buys the goats from them.
The two suspects added that they have been operating in the state since 2019 and do operate between 8 pm and 10 pm before night guards resume duty.
According to the suspects, the prices of stolen goat ranges between N5000 to N10,000.
In a related development, the Katsina State Police Command, in its total determination and unrelenting effort aimed at sanitising the state from the nefarious activities of the men of the underworld, especially Kauraye and GSM phone armed, the Command has carried out raids in several locations within the Katsina metropolitan area, which include: Sabuwar Unguwa, Gadar Nayalli, Modoji, Tudun YanLihida, Kwabren Dorawa, Janbango, Abbatuwa, Filin Canada, Lambun Dankwai, Kofar Marusa, Tsalawa, and Chake among others and succeeded in arresting fifty-four (54) suspected social miscreants/GSM phone snatchers, terrorising the state.
Confirming the arrests, CSP Gambo Isah, the state Police Public Relations Officer said the command arrested a 23 years old suspected informer to armed bandits: on April 24, at about 1:30 pm. The suspect identified as Abdullahi Bala, is from Bakkai village, kankara LGA.
Also, the command arrested a 17-year-old armed robbery suspect on April 21, at about midnight.
It was gathered that the 17 years native of Kofar Sauri quarters, katsina metropolis, who specialises in phone snatching met his waterloo when he lured a phone dealer to an uncompleted building in the Modoji area of the state, attacked and stabbed the victim on his neck with a knife which resulted to the death of the victim.
