2 Chibok school girls rescued from Sambisa forest, as troops repelled attack in Bama

Following massive troops operations in some parts of Sambisa forest, two additional Chibok school girls who had remained in captivity have been rescued.

Nigeriacrime.com reliably gathered that the Nigerian troops of 21 armoured Brigade Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Bama, have repelled an attack of the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists on the outskirts of the town in Borno State.

The terrorists stormed the town from the Sambisa axis through Yarimari Gana in the early hours of Sunday morning, April 24 2023, at about 0200 hours in an attempt to cause havoc.

Likewise, suspected members of ISWAP also carried out another attack on a military outpost in Pulka village of Gwoza local government area of Borno state, in which, a soldier paid the supreme price in the attack.

Meanwhile, an officer (name withheld) at the Maimalari Cantonment said “The Chibok schoolgirls- escapees were identified as Hauwa Mutah and Esther Markus.

“One hail in Chibok and the other one from Dzilang village,” he said.

This according to findings has reduced the number of Chibok schoolgirls in captivity from 98 to 96.

In a related development, the Nigerian troops of 21 Armoured Brigade Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Bama, have repelled an attack by the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists on the outskirts of the town in Borno State.

It was gathered that the terrorists stormed the town from the Sambisa axis through Yarimari Gana in the early morning of April 24 2023, at about 0200 hours in an attempt to cause havoc.

A counter-insurgency expert, and Security analyst in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, confirmed that the troops were swiftly deployed to the scene where they engaged the terrorists at the back of the Bama IDPs camp forcing them to flee.

Makama also confirmed the killing of a soldier by terrorists at a military formation, Pulka village of Gwoza council area.
Recalled that troops 21-Armored Brigade, Bama, and 199 Special Forces Battalion in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), had between April 17 to 20th 2023, killed 35 terrorists and captured one Alhaji Baana after its destroyed 12 camps of the Boko Haram, located in Sambisa forest near Bama Local Government Area.
