Operatives of the Benue State Police Command have arrested a 24-year-old man, Elias Abara for allegedly sodomising an eight-year-old boy in Makurdi.
Nigeriacrime.com also arrested three others for alleged conspiracy and murder of one Gabriel Abuh over N5,000 debt.
Confirming the arrest, the Commissioner of Police for Benue State, Mr George Chuku explained that the arrested suspect who sodomised his victim lured the eight years old boy to an uncompleted building where he raped him.
According to Mr. Chuku, the matter which was reported weekend stated that “while the parents of the eight years old victims identified as Oryina were away from home, a neighbour, one Elias Abara, a 24 years male, lured the child to an uncompleted building in the neighbourhood and had carnal knowledge of him.”
He stated that the child was taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment while the suspect would face prosecution in court.
The Police Commissioner also explained that aside from the N5,000 debt that was at the centre of the squabble that led to the murder of 19-year-old Gabriel Abuh, the parties were also suspected cult members.
He said during investigation, it was gathered that the trio “conspired and stabbed Gabriel Abuh with a metal object on his stomach. As a result, the victim bled profusely and was rushed to the hospital where he was eventually confirmed dead and the corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue.
“The suspects confessed to be members of a cult group and have been charged to court for prosecution.”
