35-year-old man Killed in Ogun tragic motorcycle accident

A 35-year-old bike rider, identified as Joshua Zossu, has been killed in a tragic accident involving a truck with registration number SYE 982XA from Lusada inward Igbesa at Gasline Igbesa area of Ogun State.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the motorcycle rider was riding at top speed from Lusada when it collided with the left side of a truck.

According to Muyiwa Akinranti the truck driver who reported the case at the station, after offloading the goods in my truck, as I was driving my truck with registration number SYE 982XA from Lusada inward Igbesa at Gasline Igbesa while preparing to turn towards Lusada at a turning lane, I noticed a vehicle approaching from Igbesa towards Lusada.

As I waited for the vehicle to pass, a reckless motorcycle rider, riding on top speed from Lusada collided with the left side of my truck.

When I got down to assess the impact of the collision, unfortunately, the collision resulted in serious injuries to the three occupants involved.

They were immediately rushed to St. Ann Hospital in Lusada, where Mr. Joshua Zossu, the motorcycle rider, aged 35, was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

The conditions of Mr. Yusuf Yinka and Mr. Moses Stephen, the other two occupants are reported to be responding to treatment by the doctor on duty.

Confirming the incident, the SP Omolola Odutola, Police Public Relations Officer Ogun State Police Command said the vehicle has been recovered for further inspection and the corpse was released to the family of the deceased after presenting an affidavit for withdrawal of the case.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha has appealed to commuters, motorists and Motorcyclist that their lives are worth more than endangering their lives, warnings during this “Ember month for maximum adherence to traffic rules and speed limit to avoid fatalities.

CP Alamutu also condoled with the bereaved family and reminded Ogun State drivers and other road users to observe safety measures while on the highways.
