There was panic Nyalun community in the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State as gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked the village.
The village head of Nyalun community, Salisu Idris, was killed during the attack on Monday night.
Also, the bandits who were armed to teeth gunned down two other residents of the community while also kidnapping five others.
The incident was confirmed by the Plateau State Police Command.
Confirming the incident, the Command’s PPRO, DSP Alabo Alfred said details of the incident was not very clear at that time, but corroborated that three people were killed by the bandits.
“Three people where killed in the incident at Nyalun community of Wase LGA, but we don’t have the full details of what actually happened for now”, he explained.
According to residents of Nyalun, the victims were killed when the suspected bandits arrived the community on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically to scare residents.
The residents stated that the attackers, who invaded the village around 8 pm, also abducted five members of the community, including two mothers.
Also speaking, a youth leader in Wase LGA, Mallam Sambo, said that the gunmen also made away with a good number of motorcycles belonging to the people of the community.
“The attackers came in their numbers and started shooting sporadically.
“They went straight to the traditional ruler’s house, killed him and abducted five members of his family. The also killed two other people”, he explained.
