Sabo Area of Ondo town was under siege on Wednesday night by some men suspected to be bandits shooting No fewer than six persons dead at Ondo state.
It was gathered from a source, that the gunmen were on motorcycles when they carried out the attack.
While another source said the gunmen also robbed some residents of the area before they left the scene.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident.
She, however, said it was a robbery case, adding that men of the command were already on the trail of the perpetrators.
This attack came three days after some terrorist attacked the St Francis Catholic church, Owo, killing about 40 people and leaving several other church members injured in the attack.

The leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association, South-West zone condemned the incident and cried on to members in Ondo and neighbouring states to provide the needed health care service. They also asked the government to arrest the perpetrators of the killing in Owo, Ondo State.
Market women in Owo town on Wednesday, protested again, the killing that went down at St Francis Catholic church and rained curses on the perpetrators of the acts. The protesters visited seven traditional and revered sites in the the town, where they rained curses on the attackers.
Shops, markets and other commercial centres still remains shut since last Sunday attack.
