Two suspected accomplices in terrorist attacks were arrested by Operation Hadarin Daji troops inside a commercial bank in Zaria, Kaduna.
During a conference at the Defense Headquarters (DHQ), Musa Danmadami, the Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that the suspects were arrested on September 15 while “trying to take the sum of N14 million”.
He claimed that the funds were put in the account of one Alhaji Abubakar, said to be a “suspected funder of terrorism”. The Nigerian government said in February.
The development comes less than 48 hours after the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji conducted an airstrike, killing a terrorist leader identified as Ibrahim Dangawo.

The Nigerian government said in February that between 2020 and 2021, it had discovered 96 financiers of Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP).
Danmadami added that during operations in Kaduna’s Chikun local council area, 10 wanted terrorists were detained and 16 suspected terrorists were slain at various locations.
He said 21 civilians were rescued, and that troops recovered “5 AK-47 rifles, 10 rounds of 7.62mm special, 17 mobile phones, 2 motorcycles, 3 locally made rifles, 3 pairs of woodland camouflage, 118 rustled sheep, 4 Baofeng radio sets and N29,250.00 cash.”
“The development comes less than 48 hours after the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji conducted an airstrike, killing a terrorist leader identified as Ibrahim Dangawo and other members of his gang in Katsina,” he said.
Danmadami claimed that a similar operation was carried out when a wanted terrorist mastermind named Babaru was slain at a known terrorist stronghold in Gidan Guga, Faskari LGA of Katsina.
He continued by saying that a sizable number of terrorists who were responsible for kidnapping and robbing locals at the Kawari axis in the Dan Musa LGA of Katsina were killed as a result of the airstrike.
The military has been stepping up its efforts to combat insecurity across the country in recent months.
