A customary court sitting at Ifako-Ijaiye in Lagos has annulled the marriage of a couple
over irreconcilable differences.
The judgement was given on July 19 after the husband, Mr Ibrahim Olarenwaju Olalere, had requested that his marriage with his wife, Tawakat Ibrahim, be annulled.
The petitioner, Mr Olalere, an engineer had been using, an affidavit presented to him by his wife since the 28th of January 2022 but it had no court backing. .
The court had its first sitting on the 14th of July 2022, were it was stated that the reason for the divorce was unresolved differences.
The wife and defendant was invited to the Court to give her side of the story but she did not appear in court and on the final sitting held yesterday, only Mr Olalere was in court.
However, the President of the customary court established to hear cases by muslims,
presiding stated that the petitioner and his now ex-wife has being separated.
Therefore the Court diissolved the marriage.
The custody of the children will be determined by another court.
