Head Teacher Defiles 6-year-old Girl, Jailed

A Bauchi State High Court has sentenced a head teacher, Jalaludeen Zakari, to 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.

NIGERIACRIME learnt that the minor was at the school for an admission screening.

According to reports, Zakari detained the little girl for several hours after the official school hours before assaulting her.

The prosecuting counsel with the State Ministry of Justice, Barrister Dayabu Ayuba said that during the trial, three witnesses, including the victim, testified, leading to the sentencing.

“The sentencing occurred in July of this year after Jalaludeen pleaded with the court for leniency.

“The perpetrator asked his victim to stay back, dismissing all other pupils without providing a reason for her extended stay. While she was left behind, the assailant subjected her to sexual assault, an act equivalent to rape in legal terms,” he said.
