Why I Prefer To Defile Minors – Suspected Rapist

A 30-year-old suspected rapist, Abubakar Yakubu, has confessed that he prefers to defile minors due to lack of confidence to approach mature ladies.

NIGERIACRIME reports that the suspect allegedly defiled two minors within the ages of six and eight years in Limawa area of Minna, Niger State capital.

Parading the suspect at the Niger State Police headquarters in Minna, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Damamman said the suspect lures his victims with a token of fifty or hundred Naira.

According to him, “On 2/1/2024 at about 1700hrs, based on information received, the Crack Squad arrested one Abubakar Yakubu, 30yrs, of Limawa area of Minna, suspected of assaulting minor girls within the community sexually”.

He explained that, “during preliminary investigation, the suspect narrated that he was a tricycle rider and that he had been having carnal knowledge of two minor girls within the community.

“He also confessed that he usually lured the little girls into his house with a token of fifty naira or one hundred naira since last year.

“He mentioned two other girls he attempted to have the same act with, including one of his relatives whom he has been trying to defile.”

Damamman added that the girls were taken for medical attention and were undergoing counseling with relevant government agencies.

The suspect is under investigation and he will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, three persons were confirmed dead in an accident involving two vehicles at Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.

The Spokesperson, Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.

According to him, the incident occurred at 1:20am and it involved a blue Iveco truck marked AAB 414 ZY and a white Toyota Cabster with registration number XUR 601 XY.

He noted that the accident was caused by excessive speed and brake failure on the part of the Toyota Cabster, which rammed into the broken down truck.

Akinbiyi stated that the truck was set ablaze by hoodlums who believed the accident was caused by the truck driver.

“It took the intervention of TRACE, police and the Ogun State Fire Service before normalcy could be restored on the Kara bridge for incoming vehicles inbound Lagos at that hour,” he said.

He said that five people were involved in the accident, saying three died while two others were unhurt.

“Police and Ogun State Fire Service were contacted and the deceased were taken away by their families,” he said.
